John

A transplanted American living in the French Alps, John has been a bike and ski guide for over 2 decades and ran his own cycling tour company until recently. We’ve been told that he speaks French like a native, without a trace of an accent. Come and test him out!

John will be with Gerry for our custom HighRoad Provence in May then a 2nd year of our Etape du Tour package in 2024.

Christian

Christian, our Italian guide, lives in Piemonte, near the Alps. When not guiding on the bike in the summer, he’s helping people on skis in the French Alps in winter. He speaks Italian, English and French and specializes in teaches useful Italian phrases to everyone on the tour!

Christian will be your 2nd guide on HighRoad Swiss Alps in 2024.

Spencer

Spencer’s father was a keen cyclist and as a result he was brought up on cycling for as long as he can remember. He lives at the foot of Mont Ventoux, having moved there in 2015 to run a B&B with his wife (possibly a cover to ride here regularly!). He is involved in the local cycling community and has been showing clients his favorite roads for years.

Spencer will be helping 44|5 on our Ventoux BreakAway tours and one-off rides in the area throughout the season.

Marc

A relatively recent addition to the French community, Marc lives in Provence with his young family. He brings with him many years of experience in the UK cycling industry, where he ran a company offering teaching and training to people from all over the world. Marc likes a challenge, too, as evidenced by his completion of the ultra-endurance Transcontinental Race in 2022.

In 2024 Marc will be helping Gerry on our custom HighRoad Provence tour and you may see him if you have a Provence or Ventoux BreakAway.
