44|5 began life when Gerry decided to share his favorite roads with visitors to the south of France, and we still love to get out and do guided rides with people eager to see Provence on two wheels, even if it’s just for a few hours.

For something a little longer, our BreakAway Packages are short-stay custom cycling holidays that include accommodation and guided rides. These tours are located in prime cycling areas like Mont Ventoux, the Luberon Valley, Uzès and Girona, Spain.

Do you like to compete? We are an official tour operator of both l’Etape du Tour and l’Etape du Tour Femmes avec Zwift.

If you want something full service and longer, we have week-long, all-inclusive tours in the Alps, Pyrenees, Massif Central and Provence, in France – plus an ever-expanding set of tours in the rest of Europe, including week-long adventures in the Dolomites and Piemonte in Italy, The Alps of Switzerland and Austria and new for 2026, Slovenia. Whatever your cycling needs are, we’ve got you covered!

We Are Locals

Gerry has lived in the south of France for 18 years and has many more years riding experience in the country and around Europe. We started offering tours because of our love of the bike and specifically when we riding it in France (with Italy and Spain close seconds)!

Gerry and his guides live in Europe full time and are continually exploring new roads to share with you. Our local knowledge, whether cultural, historical or gastronomic, is passed along to you.

We had “real” day jobs before we embarked on this adventure, and we know how difficult it is to indulge your cycling passion and balance work, family and other commitments.  For that reason we’re determined to give you the best overall experience possible when you come to cycle with us.  We want you to get the most out of your cycling vacation, whether it’s a guided day ride or a full week-long tour.

You can be sure to get very personal service each time you contact us, and the same person (Gerry) will be taking care of you from first contact until the end of your trip.

More Bike Time

We have designed all our week-long HighRoad Tours in a manner to keep van transfers to an absolute minimum. Whether you ride with us in the French Alps, Spanish Pyrenees or Italian Dolomites, you will probably only have two rides in a vehicle – to the mountains and back to the airport.

For shorter tours and guided rides we can often come to your hotel or holiday home and start riding right from your front door, allowing you more time for tourism, or maybe just relaxing by the pool with a post-ride glass of rosé!

It’s important to have confidence in the company you book your overseas cycling tour with. 44|5 Cycling Tours is a registered tour operator and listed on the Registre des Opérateurs de Voyages et de Séjours – a requirement for all tour operators under French law.
